Lesson: Dew Point Lab
Standard: 6a Evaporation and precipitation determine humidity. Evaporation and precipitation transfer energy between the atmosphere and oceans because energy is absorbed when water evaporates and is released when water condenses.
8a Students know the thermal structure and chemical composition of the atmosphere. The troposphere, the layer in which weather occurs, supports life on Earth. The stratosphere is nearly devoid of water. The stratosphere forms ozone, O3, which is important to life because ozone absorbs harmful ultra-violet radiation.
